Anastasia Uzodimma is a brave Nigerian lady who is willing to make a landmark by exploring the world of shoe making in Nigeria. The young lady who aspires to be the best female shoe cobbler in Nigeria is undaunted by the fact that many people may frown at her choice of profession.

NAIJ.com in an exclusive interview with the vibrant young lady probed her about her decision and the sacrifices that she had to make concerning it.

Uzodimma who answered excitedly was willing to share her story with the world as she looked forward to inspiring the young ones who are interested in venturing into the entrepreneurial world.

Recently, NAIJ.com published a report about the young lady and the beautiful pieces she made were showcased; this made people rain words of praises and encouragement on her. However, we went further to question her so the world could know the personality behind the shoes.

Can you tell us more about yourself?

My name is Anastasia Uzodimma and I am for Imo state. I am the only child of my parents. My dad is late so it is just my mummy and I. We are not rich and I am am not yet in school. I have written so many JAMB exams but because my mother has no money, I had to stop taking the form.

How long have you been making shoes?

I have been in this business for over a year. I used to buy from my friends who are men.

Uzodimma is the only child of her parents, she wants to be the best female shoe cobbler in Nigeria.

What prompted you into doing it in the first place?

At a time, I said let me give it a try since I actually love doing it as a business. I tried and it worked for me. Again, it is is something that keeps me busy all the time.

How have you been able to reach out to people on your business?

Simply because of this my business, I have met many people; both the good and bad ones. I tell people about this business through Facebook, Instagram and many more because I sell online.

How would you rate the reception of people since you began the awareness?

Perfect! They have been responsive and business is going on smoothly.

Has the business being yielding profit, what major progress have you recorded since you started?

Yielding of profit, hmmmmm! I am just a living testimony to my business as it has helped me in so many ways. I feed my family with it because my mum had a small issue that made her unable to provide.

I promised to take care of her and make sure she is fine. I also take care of myself and do other things with what I make from the business. I rented an apartment with some money, bought my working equipment and as it is now, I can go to school with the little I have saved.

The young lady is proud of the woman she is fast becoming.

What was your ambition while growing up?

My ambition then was to become a newscaster, be skilled in one trade or the other and also to become a celebrity. I simply want to be a great woman in the world.

Has anything changed about it?

Now I want to own my company, my dream of being a newscaster is still there.

What motivates you to continue doing what you are doing?

I am still doing my business because I am comfortable with it. It is paying my bills, keeping me busy and helping me stay responsible.

This business has helped her save money to buy some equipment.

Which major challenges have you tried to overcome since you began?

The only challenge I am having is the stress that comes with the business. It is also not easy keeping the customers satisfied.

Have your parents supported since you started?

My mum has been there for me, she encourages me and tells me to keep the good work going.

What have you to say to young people who are interested in starting a business?

My advice to the ladies out there is that hard work pays. Do not focus on what a man can do for you, work hard first.

What would you like to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered as a hard working woman.
