Wife goes berserk over 'bride price' and beats husband (photo, video)
- A 30-year-old man from Uganda almost died after his wife beat him to half-death
- The cause of the dispute was that the husband could not pay the ‘bride price’ for his wife which caused the woman to go berserk
- Police are currently searching for the woman
30-year-old Juma Candia was almost murdered by his wife 34-year-old Beatrice Ajio after the furious woman smashed a load of empty bottles across her husband’s head after which she stabbed him in the hand with a knife.

According to the police report the cause of the argument was that Mr Candia did not pay the ‘bride price’.
Candia said: “My wife, with whom I have lived for two years, was not happy that I was delaying to pay bride price. But I kept on explaining that I did not have enough money.”
The neighbor’s thought that Candia was dead after the vicious attack. Police are currently searching for the woman.

‘Bride price’ is part of the Lugbara culture in Uganda where the man must pay a price for getting married.
“Usually, it is the elders to speak about payment of bride price that is done on mutual consent. This should have been an act done without consent of the elders. If there were misunderstandings, the elders should have been involved,” said one of the suspect’s relatives.
