A shocking video showing a HIV-positive girl cleaning a sewer with her bare hands has surfaced online.
Reports indicate that the video was taken at the Ambassadors of Goodwill for AIDS Patients Everywhere (AGAPE) orphanage in Gayatrinagar, Hyderabad, India.
In the video, the unidentified girl is seen standing chest-deep inside a manhole and scooping sewer waste in a bowl and pouring it on the ground beside her.

About five other girls, who however have some protective gear, are also seen surrounding the girl and taking part in the cleaning exercise.
The video has sparked outrage across Indian society and has led to the arrest of the orphanage's warden and supervisor by Hyderabad Police on Sunday, April 23.

About five other girls are also seen taking part in the cleaning exercise
Achuyta Rao, President of the Andhra Pradesh Child Rights Association (CRA), called for the closure of the orphanage, which has over 200 abandoned and orphaned HIV-positive girls.

He said: "This is nothing but the blatant violation of child rights. It is all the more a big crime because the Supreme Court has banned manual scavenging in the country."
