An overweight blogger has been using her Instagram account to advance the “body positive” movement that looks to create awareness among plus-sized people that you do not have to be ashamed of who you are and of your body.

This is why Jasmine Grimes has been posting a series of selfies, many of them in underwear, in order to present a wider variety of bodies in the public eye.
This "Plus Size Influencer", as she calls herself on her @myssematch account, wants to aid those in the same position as her, in the idea that beauty can come in many sizes, and that self-confidence can come from within, no matter how small or big you are.

The founder of Mysse Match Mag has created quite a whirlwind with her photographs, speaking about the “importance of an image” in one of their captions. “Over the last few weeks, I have seen so many people discount the importance of a good underwear selfie, and I don’t think that’s right. Many people have touted how important being confident in your own skin in the real world is, and they are right,” she writes.
Grimes believes larger women should show off their body. “There’s something magical about a fat girl flaunting her curves unapologetically in clothes that others would say only belongs to a certain body type,” she said, claiming photos have the ability to inspire others to do the same, and “shape people’s perceptions of things.”

Grimes has wanted to become a role model in this sense, after she was unable to find other women representing her shape on such powerful platforms as the different social media outlets. “I used to scour Instagram for photos [of] women who had my body type… It allowed me to see someone with stretch marks and cellulite, and rolls and say ‘I look like that too’,” she wrote in one post.
Her messages on each picture are aimed at dismantling myths, trying to change preconceived notions, and in the end, tell other girls like her that they are not alone.
