A heroic firefighter expertly caught a baby thrown from the second floor of a burning building in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, April 19.
Firefighters were putting out the fire on an apartment building when a desperate father called out from the second floor holding the baby out.
Firefighter Robert Sutton acted fast and urged the father to drop the baby into his arms, after which he quickly took him to safety away from the billowing smoke.
An onlooker in a separate building named Larry Carter took a video of Sutton's incredible rescue effort and shared it online.
Carter described the incident to a local reporter: "All of a sudden you heard a man screaming. When I heard there was a baby, my heart started fluttering. But the firefighters [got] up to the window fast and the one guy just caught it like a football pass. It was something to see."

For his part, Sutton said: "He was a little guy, so when I heard his father yelling 'Help,' and saw him hanging out the window with the baby in his arms, I just went into action. I just did what any of the other firefighters out here would have done."
