Tragedy as serving youth corps member dies of anaemia in Kebbi state (photos)

A serving NYSC member in Kebbi state, Obafemi Oluwatimilehin Paul, has died after battling aplastic anaemia.

Aplastic anaemia is a medical condition in which the bone marrow can no longer produce enough blood.

The deceased graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

The stream one corps member whose state code was KB/16/2111 was said to have developed the ill health as he got to Dakingari camp in Kebbi state.

After being examined, he was told that his eyes were pale which signals low blood (anaemia). For proper treatment, he was redeployed to Oyo state where he was admitted at University College Hospital, Ibadan. While there, he constantly received blood transfusion both blood and platelets.

He sadly died last night.
