Sad! Check out what happened at the burial of police officer who died during Zenith bank robbery attack (photos)
Just few days back the news about how a brave Nigerian police officer, Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko died during a Zenith bank robbery in Owerri, took over the internet and a lot of condolence messages has been sent to the family of the deceased.
It could be recalled that the robbery took place earlier this years on February 22, and fortunately two of the armed robbers have been arrested. Iboko was reported to have just resumed duty at that branch three days before the unfortunate incident.
NAIJ.com gathered that the robbers were said to have trailed a customer into the Wetheral road branch of Zenith Bank, Owerri, Imo state before engaging the late police officer in a gunshot battle.

Speaking with Punch, 32-year-old wife of the late police officer Mary Iboko revealed that both Zenith bank and the Nigerian have refused to help her and the seven children ever since her husband’s death.
Mary Iboko further revealed that the children are now being sent out of school because she is unable to cater for their tuition fees. She added that the burden is too much for her bear alone as one of her triplets also slumped and died on seeing his father’s corpse.

Also speaking with the eldest son Favour Iboko, he disclosed that he still can’t believe his father is no more because two days before his death, his father had promised to bring home some money which he needed to purchase some textbooks. However, his dream of becoming a medical doctor was cut short due to his father’s death.
However, the ate police officer was able to kill one of the armed robbers before he was shot dead by another gang member. It was a four member robber that left one dead, two arrested and another on the run.
