GEJ's minister Chidoka boasts, says UPP only platform for political redirection in Nigeria
- A former minister of aviation said Anambra state and Nigeria as a whole needs social, economic and political redirection
- Osita Chidoka said such redirection must be guaranteed based on equity, justice and fairness; where no man is oppressed
- He said the time has come for a peaceful national rethink and dialogue that will bring Nigeria out of its current situation
The former minister of aviation Osita Chidoka has said that his new party the United Progressive Party (UPP) is the only genuine platform for the desired redirection in Anambra state and the nation at large.
Chidoka also said that the party is focused on delivering the desired social, economic and political redirection in the state.
While addressing National Convention of the UPP on Thursday, June 29, in Awka, Anambra state capital, Chidoka said what is needed in Nigeria today, is the guarantee of a functioning country.

He said this guarantee must be based on equity, justice and fairness; where no man is oppressed.
Chidoka also said Nigeria must provide an environment where every part or section is free to decide how it wants to interact with the rest and with every citizen or group feel free to express their views without fear.
The former minister who is contesting for Anambra state gubernatorial said the time has come for a peaceful national rethink and dialogue that will bring Nigeria out of the fault lines to a level of new national consensus.
He said the UPP which is a genuine political platform is focused on achieving these at all levels.

Stating that the Nigeria looks up to the party for the desired social and political redirection, Chidoka said the UPP is now positioned to assume that role with its imminent victory at the Saturday, November 18, governorship election in Anambra state.
Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the UPP Chekwas Okorie said that the party stands for equity, freedom and justice.

He said the party supports the clamour for restructuring as well as legitimate political demand by any section of the country within the wider national structure.
Okorie noted that the party is the only genuine platform for all groups within Nigeria to vent themselves without trouble.
Stating that the UPP will produce the next governor of Anambra state, Okorie explained that the convention was to ratify some amendments in the constitution of the party.
He also said the convention will re-position party for the election and to take over government at the federal level in 2019.
