A 26-year-old Lalita Ben Bansi had a horrifying experience after being attacked with acid. The acid attack left the face of the young woman deformed. Despite going through seventeen corrective surgeries, Bansi got married to the love of her life.
The acid-attack survivor got married to 27-year-old Ravi Shankarat Thane court in Mumbai. The couple’s love story is indeed an intriguing one with their affair sparking off with a wrongly dialed number. With time, the couple got to know each other and started dating.
Lalita had shared her story with Hindustan Times. She was excited with the turnout of event.

"So many surgeries later, too, my face was deformed. In need for change, I moved from Azamgarh to Kalwa in Thane near Mumbai. Miracles do happen, who would have thought an acid attack and 17 surgeries later I would find love.
‘But it happened. And it all started with a wrong number," she stated.
Bansi’s husband works as a CCTV operator for a private firm in Kandivli. The young man also has a petrol pump which he manages in Ranchi. Shankar expressed his love for Bansi. He speaks and holds her in high esteem. He thinks she deserves a better life.
“I liked her from the beginning. I had to only convince my mother to accept my choice. I had to make Lalita believe that she too had the right to a better life. Looks are a matter of time. I have seen gorgeous- looking people parting ways after years of marriage. I had always thought I would break the monotony.
We will decide whether to settle in Mumbai or Ranchi depending on what Lalita wants", he revealed.
Shankar admitted loving Bansi from the very beginning.

Bansi and Shankar’s wedding was attended by a lot of Bollywood stars like Vivek Oberoi. The star had met her at an acid-attack event for survivors. It has been discovered that there are hundreds of reported acid attacks in India every year.
