Suspected cultists who allegedly killed 8 people in Kwara state have been arrested (photos)
Thirteen cultists who allegedly killed at least 8 people in Ilorin, capital of Kwara state, have been caught and arrested.
NAIJ.com gathered that the gang was responsible for the recent 3-day cultists onslaughts in Ilorin metropolis.
The suspects were alleged to have participated in the cult war in which eight persons were killed, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.
It was gathered that the 3-day onslaught began due to supremacy battles between two rival cult groups.
Ajayi Okasanmi, the police public relations officer, on Wednesday, April 12, revealed that the 13 suspects were arrested by men of the special armed response team of the state police command.

He revealed that some of the suspects have confessed to perpetrating crime during the 3-day onslaught. He said: “After thorough interrogation of the arrested suspects, six suspects were found culpable in the incident.”
Okasanmi explained that the suspects would be arraigned before the court of law soon. He also debunked rumours that claimed that the masterminds of the 3-day onslaught were members of vigilance group.

The spokesman warned troublemakers to desist from their acts and urged residents to assist the police to clean up crimes in the state.
He said: “The law would take its normal course if any one is arrested for breakdown of law and order in the state.”
