A woman-led health activist group made up of nuns in California has claimed it helps people by selling healing marijuana to people in pain.
According to Reuters, the seven member group does not belong to any order of the Catholic Church.
A 58-year-old member, Sister Kate, who founded the sisterhood expressed that the sisterhood does not believe in religion. She said: "We're against religion, so we're not a religion. We consider ourselves Beguine revivalists, and we reach back to pre-Christian practices.”
The sisterhood has expressed that marijuana plant is their Holy Trinity because it helps them heal people in pain.
They turn the hemp into cannabis-based balms and ointments, which they claim improves the health and well-being of people.

Kate explained that the sisters of the valley become sisters through commercial relationship and wage earning.
She said: "A sister becomes a sister through a commercial relationship and earning a wage or a commission and we want to grow this way because we want to free the women, we don't want to make them more dependent."
NAIJ.com gathered that more than 24 states in the United States have legalized some form of marijuana for medical or recreational use. The substance, however, remains illegal at the federal level.
Some customers of the sisterhood expressed that the cannabis sold by the sisters have yielded great results.
