The deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank has reiterated his call for the national chairman of the ruling party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun to resign.
Comrade Frank who made his stance known to NAIJ.com, described Oyegun's leadership as an embarrasment to the party.
According to the APC chieftain, there is confusion in the ruling party as to its future, because of bad management and bad leadership of Oyegun.
''I challenge anybody who says APC is not in crisis. I have my prove to show that this party is more dis-organised under the leadership of Oyegun,'' Comrade Frank said.

He continued: ''It is very disappointing that Oyegun recently addressed Nigerians that APC will be holding a convention by April; suddenly this same chairman reversed himself again with an embarrassing statement, addressing and telling the world that we cannot hold the convention because the party does not have money.
''This is very embarrassing, especially for a ruling party, for a party with over 19 governors, a party with speaker and Senate president, a party with president and ministers, a party with prominent leaders…that shows the chairman has failed.
''Convention is a very critical issue and the chairman says we don’t have money, therefore we cannot do convention. If I am the national chairman, I would have resigned.
''Even when we did not have the number of governors we have today, when we started under the leadership of Baba Akande for the short period of time he was there as the interim chairman of the party, I bet you that was the best of my time in APC. Baba Akande’s leadership was fantastic.
''With less governors and no president at that time, he convened a convention. The party even had more money than today. The party was not owing salaries as at that time. The party was even paying their bills. Today, the party cannot pay salaries in the secretariat…common light bill, the party cannot pay. So if things cannot work under you, you quit!''
Comrade Frank however said his issue with Oyegun is not personal, noting that his stance was due to his love for the APC.
His words: ''I belong to this party and I want my party to succeed. Because as a young man, I know the sacrifice I have made for this party. I fought for this party; I am not just one young man anyone can push away.
''The role I played for this government to emerge, some of the ministers in this government did not do one-third of it, but I am not complaining. I cannot afford to keep quiet for a party that I worked hard to build to die.'
The APC chieftain further reiterated his earlier stance that he can run the APC better than Chief Oyegun.
''The national chairman of the ruling party in Kenya is just 30. The ruling party today is doing very great under him. So if a young man there can do it, I can also do it.'' he argued.
He continued: ''I still stand by my earlier statement that truly I can run the party more than the current national chairman and I believe I will do better.
''If I am made the national chairman of the APC, I’ll do better because today practically, I don’t think we have a party. Whether we like or not, the party today is in disarray.''
Comrade Frank further stated that if Oyegun the position of chairman, the South-south region will still produce the national chairman.
He predicted that the party will continue to have issues and they cannot be resolved under Oyegun.
''There is so much crisis going on in the party across the federation under Oyegun. It shows this leadership has failed,'' he said.

He also lamented the fact that the APC still do not have a Board of Trustees constituted up till now, adding that it is one of the reasons why the party has challenges.
''Whatever areas the party is going wrong, the BOT will intervene. BOT will advise even the president on what to do, but because we don’t have that in place, a lot of things are wrong,'' he noted.
He warned that if the APC do not get it right, they should not expect to win the 2019 presidential elections, adding that Nigerians voted the APC based on the confidence they had in the party in 2015.
''So if Nigerians are not comfortable with our leadership today, the will vote us out the same way they voted out the PDP,'' he concluded.
