A 74-year-old man in Kunming, China, has dressed as a woman for 14 years in order to make his 96-year-old mother, who wished to have a daughter but only had two sons, happy.
Li Yinglai dresses as a woman to make his mother happy
Li Yinglai does this every weekend and puts on a show for visitors at Kunming's Green Lake Park. He dances for the visitors and poses for pictures with tourists.
Although he loves the attention, he is quick to reveal the selfless reason behind his public shows — to fulfill his mother's wish to have a daughter.

Speaking in an interview, Li said: “I do this for my mother. My mother has no daughters, and I want to make her happy by wearing women’s clothes. I’m happy to wear women’s clothes, and I can make others happy too.”

Li added that he has done this since he turned 60 years old. He spices up his attires by painting his nails, and putting on earrings, rings, bracelets and a pair of odd-looking sunglasses.

Li's mother said she appreciates what he does to make her happy, adding that as long as he's happy with it, she's happy too.

Li spends most of his time looking after his mother
Li has never been married, has no children, and spends most of his time looking after his elderly mother. During the week, he dresses normally like any other Chinese man.
