Wawu! Divorce-seeking wife shamed as husband reveals she was pregnant for another man before their wedding
A divorce case took an unexpected turn in a customary court in Akure when a truck driver revealed that his wife, who was carrying another man’s child at the time he married her, was pregnant again for another man. The couple had been married for twelve years and they wanted to get separated.
Abiodun Adeyanju, a truck driver, told a customary court in Akure that he married his wife, Opeyemi Adeyanju, while she was pregnant for another man. He said he got married to her to show her true love and kindness despite the fact that she was carrying another man’s child.
The husband revealed that his wife was stubborn and disrespectful. The poor man revealed that he recently discovered she was pregnant for another man again and had refused to disclose the identity of the man.

“I offered to render her some relief out of compassion, I allowed her to live with me in my house, and our relationship subsequently led to marriage.
“My wife was a known symbol of a mess in our neighbourhood, as a result of her high rate of promiscuity," he said.
Opeyemi in defense told the court that the respondent was fond of beating. He would punch her each time he got provoked.
“He usually stays away from home, without considering my welfare and that of our two children.
“My husband twice broke my hand because I was trying to dissuade him from smoking. I usually reported all the issues between us to his family members," she said.
The petitioner sought the ending of her 12-year-old marriage to her husband on grounds of threat to life and lack of care. She also stated that she could no longer with the pains in the marriage.

Chief Rotimi Olusanya, the president of the court, told the petitioner not to waste the opportunity she had. He said "rarely could anyone cater for another man’s pregnancy. I want two of you to settle the misunderstanding between you because of your children," Olusanya said.
The case has been adjourned until April 6. Only then would they know if their case can be settled or not.
