Neurologist explains what happens in the last 30 seconds before you die

People generally believe that before a person dies they experience seeing a white light at the end of the tunnel or have their life flash before their eyes.
The light at the end of tunnel is experienced by many people before death
Dr Cameron Shaw, a neurologist, along with VICE magazine dissected the brain of a woman that recently passed away to see the processes that would have went through her mind before death.
Dr. Cameron believes that the first things to go are our “most human characteristics.” He explains: “Our sense of self, our sense of humor and our ability to think ahead — that stuff all goes within the first 10 to 20 seconds. Then, as the wave of blood-starved brain cells spread out, our memories and language centers short out, until we’re left with just a core.”

Dr. Cameron also explains that the light at the end of the tunnel that many people see before they die. He said: “We know from experience tunnel vision emerges abruptly when you suddenly lose blood supply to the brain. The first thing you notice in fainting is the narrowing of vision, followed by blackness.”
He adds: “You could argue that’s the way in which death would progress as well because the same mechanisms are in place and it’s an interruption of blood flow to the brain.”
When the reporters questioned him about out-of-body experiences the scientist stated: “The brain can create a visual world around you that resembles something close to reality that isn’t reality, because you’re actually blind.”
