A senior PDP man writes letter to the governor of an oil rich state, check the content
Editor's Note: This short and tight piece was written by a National Assistant Organising Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Paul Okwufulueze. He is pleading with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state to align with the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP and drop the long drawn battle.
It has become expedient that I write you considering the crisis militating against our great People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the need to urgently bring it under control if we must move forward.
You remain an uncommon leader, a grass root politician and a huge source of inspirations, whose followers cannot stand the chances of losing to opposition in subsequent elections.
The rift in our dear party has taken an unhealthy dimension which is not good for the state and the Anioma agenda of retaining power in the state come 2019.
We know you are a listening leader who knows what it takes to win a case and how needful it is to carry along others, especially those under you in the state, unite with Ali Modu Sheriff group in the state knowing fully well they are in support of your leadership in Delta state.
Your wisdom in handling this will build a formidable force behind you that would guarantee your success anytime any day.

I recall your statement recently when you said “we will respect the decision of the court”. We expect you to lead, initiate and welcome any peace strategy and platforms that will bring you together to operate in the same page with Cairo Ojougboh, Mariam Ali and others.
Your Excellency, on behalf of the people of Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha south local government area of Delta state I appreciate you for bringing light back to our community.
This is why we believe in your leadership. We re-affirm our confidence in you. We are solidly behind you.
