A day after medical doctor killed himself, Lagosians rescue woman who jumped into the lagoon (photo)
An unidentified woman has been rescued after she attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the lagoon from Maza-Maza bridge in Mile 2 area of Lagos state.
According to witnesses, the woman who was dressed in a blouse and trousers was walking along the bridge when she suddenly climbed the rail and jumped into the lagoon.

Some people around the area immediately jumped into the lagoon to rescue her. Upon getting her out, they started to press her bloated stomach to expel the water that she consumed.

A witness who identified himself as Emeka said: “The thing happened so fast that we could not stop her. However, when she jumped, we called for help, prompting people under the bridge to dive in and rescue her.”

Another witness, Adewale, who was among those who rescued the woman said: “We were under the bridge, when suddenly the woman’s body dropped from the bridge. At first, we thought she was either pushed over or fell over by mistake. We had to jump into the river and went for her. That was how we rescued her.”
Sadly the woman's suicide attempt is coming a day after a medical doctor jumped into the lagoon and killed himself, what do you think is the problem?
