An 11-year-old girl in Chicago, US, has saved the lives of 8 people, including her cousin, after passing away from a wound caused by a stray bullet.
Takiya Holmes was struck by a stray bullet during a gang gunfight in her Chicago neighborhood. Her family immediately took her to hospital but doctors pronounced her dead soon thereafter.
However, they put her body on life support to keep her organs as fresh as possible after her grief-stricken mother, Naikeeia Williams, and the rest of her family expressed a wish to donate them to save the lives of others in need of organ transplants.
