Premier League!! Tottenham 1-0 Middlesbrough (RESULT)

Tottenham cut the gap to Chelsea at the top of the table to nine points with a hard-fought victory over Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men dominated the game but had to wait until almost the hour mark to open the scoring when the hosts were awarded a penalty after Bernardo brought down Son Heung-min.

Harry Kane stepped up and fired home, sending Victor Valdes the wrong way, as Spurs finally gained reward for their dominance.

Christian Eriksen almost doubled the hosts’ lead within a minute, his shot saved well by Valdes after good work from Son and Kane.

Marten de Roon had a wonderful opportunity to equalise in stoppage time but could only fire wide as Spurs secured all three points.
