Obafemi Martins, Carlos Tevez Suffer Humiliating Defeat In Shanghai After 2-0 Loss (Photos)
The duo of Obafemi Martins and Carlos Tevez failed to rescue Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC, as they crashed out of the Asian Champions League (ACL) Preliminary Round, after losing 0-2 to Brisbane Roar FC on Wednesday at the Hongkou Football Stadium, Shanghai, China.
Australian forward, Brandon Borrello put the Australian A-League side ahead two minutes into the game, before Tommy Oar doubled the lead in the 40th minute, after which the tie ended 2-0 at full time.
Argentine superstar, Tevez missed several scoring chances in the home encounter, and still could not turn the tide when it really mattered in the second half.
Unlike Tevez who featured for the entire duration, Nigerian striker, Martins also failed to find the back of the net. Roar’s goalkeeper, Jamie Young denied Obagoal another bright goal as he missed a shot at an open net towards the end of the game.
With the 2-0 loss, Shenhua have crashed out the ACL, while Roar booked their place in the next stage of the competition.
