Jobless graduate who begs for a living gets help from well wishers (photos)

Help has started pouring in for a Kenyatta University graduate who has resorted to living in the streets due to poverty.

The story of John Kariuki emerged a day ago with photos showing the graduate who lives in the streets of Nairobi as a beggar dressed in tatters and unkempt.
Kariuki who is an orphan also pushes carts in downtown Nairobi so as to put food on the table. The former Starehe Boys Centre alumni has been hunting for a job and is yet to get a decent source of living four years after graduating.

But after his story came to light, miracles have now began unfolding in Kariuki's eyes. Starehe Old boys Community have decided Kariuki will no longer spend another night in the cold and have gotten him some shelter where he will also undergo psychological counselling.
Transport Principal Secretary Irungu Nyakera, has personally reached out to the graduate and will act as his mentor.
Another Kenyan of goodwill Jane Wa Bonie has promised Kariuki a few mitumba (second hand clothes) bales as business start up.

Well wishers have also donated KSh 29, 216 (N89,000) to assist the needy Biotechnology graduate. At the same time, Youth Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki, has also set up a meeting with the graduate with an aim of assisting him.
