How 2 Igbo men return home from Indonesia and US only to meet their demise (photos)

Something has to be done in Imo state. This is the story of Imo sons in diaspora who returned to their fatherland to face their demise.

Nnaemeka Obiekea came home from United States

Nnaemeka Obiekea, came home to spend his Christmas and New Year, with members of the family. On getting to Owerri, Nnaemeka went to the All Seasons Hotel night club in the municipality with his brothers. They had their fun and when his brothers announced that they were leaving for home, Nnaemeka told them he would prefer to stay on and go to the nearest Catholic Church to attend the morning mass. Due to a tragic incident Obiekea was unable to accept the mass.

Nnaemeka was murdered in cold blood and branded an armed robber by serving soldiers! The Obiekeas mounted pressure on both the police and army until the two serving soldiers involved in the murder, were fished out and prosecuted in court and found guilty.

Nduka came home from Indonesia

Nduka, a native of Egbuoma in Oguta local government area of Imo State, returned from Indonesia, to celebrate the Christmas and New Year with his family. A tragic incident occurred when, Nduka was gunned down by a trigger happy police inspector, Michael, at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, mega station, Control Post, Owerri, over a very minor incident.

He was sadly murdered in front of his mother and bride, where they stopped to refuel their vehicles.

Chuks Okebata returned home from the US but he died in the hands of kidnappers

A serving officer of the United States Army and an Imo state indigene, Chuks Okebata, was kidnapped January 12, 2017, from his country home, Umuomumu, Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of the state. His lifeless body, later turned up at Atta Junction, Ikeduru local council area.

The late soldier is survived by a wife and two sons. The family has equally announced a cash reward of N2.5 million for anyone with credible clues that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the murderers.

Meanwhile, Imo state's commissioner of police, Taiwo Lakanu, confirmed the incidents and disclosed that the command was on top of the matter.

He said: “Yes, the incidents happened but I can’t disclose what we have done or what we are doing. Just be assured that we are working."
