You aint seen nothing yet, federal lawmaker tells constituents as he promises 'more wonders'

Babajimi Benson, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the National House of Representatives, has asked his constituents to expect more from him.

The proud Ikorodu son made this statement after being honoured by his own people for being the division's best representative of 2016, stating that the people who elected him into office had not seen anything with what they thought he did in 2016.

Benson, who was at a time involved in helping his constituents fix schools by carrying headpans and supervising their rehabilitation before resumption, also aided some youths to get some loan for start up projects.

These kindhearted deeds of the reps member including his food bank project for the less-privileged in the area, were said to have informed the award which was presented during a gala held at Al-Royal hotel in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos state.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker was Taiwo Odumbo, principal of the Lagos State University (LASU) International School, who delivered his principal's message.

"I promised practical democracy and that is exactly what the people will get. Honestly, all of these things that we are doing are just about the things that we promised the people, we hope to do more for the people because we were made by these people," he stated.

JB as the politician is fondly and affectionately called by the people of Ikorodu was rewarded alongside Ikorodu Oga radio, the first online community radio in Lagos state.

Omoba Peju Akinyemi, the CEO of the six-month old radio station, was excited after receiving an award for his organisation's hard work which he believes can only get better.

According to him: "This award is a confirmation of the unique and innovativeness of the Ikorodu Oga Radio brand.

"This is a positive morale booster for our team not to relent in our determination to redefine community journalism in Nigeria. The organisers have really done well to give us this award and we are truly grateful to them."
