Student raises N4 million online to fund herself in school (photos)
An 18-year-old student, Allie Dowdle has raised £11,000 (N4 million) through a crowdfunding after her parents cut her off when they discovered she was dating a black man, Michael Swift.
She said her father, Bill told her she was never allowed to see her boyfriend again after she showed him a photo of Swift.
She said: “Hoping to share him with my family, I showed my parents his picture, and the conversation was over before it even began."
“My dad did not give me an option: he told me that I was not allowed to see Michael ever again."
“Why? Strictly because of skin color. It wasn’t a quiet ‘no’ either. I’ll never forget the yelling my parents did, when they expressed how disappointed they were in me, that I could do so much better.”

The 18-year-old who is from Memphis, Tennessee said she was blocked from using her personal savings and no longer had access to her car and phone, leaving her penniless and unable to continue her education
She wrote: “As I am 18, my parents have chosen to no longer support my future, stripping me of all my resources.”
Her father however said cutting her off had nothing to do with racism. He said: "She's spoiled and it became obvious that she needed to go out in the world and grow up."
Say NO to racial discrimination!
