PDP links Rotimi Amaechi to another alleged scandal

PDP says Rotimi Amaechi has entered into the Guinness book of records for his many lies.

The Rivers state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, as a serial liar.

The party also said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a visionless party that thrives on lies.

The verbal attack on Amaechi and the APC was made by the state chairman of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, in a statement on Thursday, January 26, Daily Post reports.

Obuah, made the statement in reaction to the response to the defense of the transportation minister, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, by his supporters over promise that the oil wells he claimed were wrongly ceded to the neighbouring states to Rivers would be returned to the state government within six months of Buhari administration.

The PDP chieftain who described Amaechi’s promises as empty, said the minister has entered into the Guinness book of records for his many lies and hollow electioneering campaign promises just to hoodwink the people into helping him actualize personal desires.

He said: "If the APC were wiser, the best thing to do is to keep silent and learn from their miscalculation for a better image than trying to defend an indefensible goof, the State PDP boss declared.

“To us, not addressing the issue of arrant lie and unfulfilled promise upon his defection to the mother of all lies party (APC), by the Amaechi apologists is to beat the air which portends greater danger to democratic ideals and will definitely corrupt the psyche of the innocent citizens of our land that may have joined the APC bandwagon, not knowing that the party is founded on precarious feet of falsehood."

In other news, APC has written to Senator Shehu Sani over his recent utterances regarding the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sani, 49, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District yesterday, January 26, faulted the letter written to the Senate by President Buhari on the resolution for sack of the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), Babachair Lawal.

In response to the letter in which President Buhari turned down the call for Lawal’s resignation, Sani said he was shocked that the president could be misled to write such a letter.

He described the letter as “the funeral service for anti-corruption fight” in the country.
