A tragic incident has been reported in Lusaka, Zambia, in which a mother gave his two children, aged five and two years old, an insecticide to consume.

Police in Lusaka have identified the mother as 32-year-old Miriam Mulenga. She is currently recovering in hospital but her two kids lie in the Lusaka's main mortuary.
The spokeswoman of Lusaka police Esther Katongo said further investigations are ongoing to establish the woman's motive for committing the tragic crimes.

The tragic incident has shocked many Zambians, many of whom have blamed poverty as the main cause.
