Join APC or face major setbacks – Okorocha warns Igbo people
While the clamour for secession continues to cause fracas between law enforcement agents and the people of the south-eastern part of Nigeria, a governor from the zone, Rochas Okorocha, has urged them to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Okorocha who is the governor of Imo state, belonging to the party at the centre is the only option available to Igbo people at the moment.
The governor urged the people to make use of the opportunity open to them for registration as members of the party adding that this is the only way they would not face set-backs.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor said this in Owerri on Saturday, January 21, 2017 according to a statement by his chief press secretary, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo.
“All indigenes of the South-East geopolitical zone should seize the opportunity offered to them by the ongoing registration of APC across the nation and register in mass in the party.
“APC is at the centre and in most states of the federation and what the south easterners should do is to wake up and identify with the government that has come to stay,” he said while warning party leaders to avoid rancour and utterances that could bring the party into disrepute.
