SHOCKING! Governor Wike cries out for protection, speaks with IGP Ibrahim Idris

- He asked the police chief to transfer two senior police officers in the state who he alleged compromised the state's security
The Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike has decried the withdrawal of his chief security officer by the inspector general of police Ibrahim Idris.
Wike also said his life is currently in danger over the “surreptitious” withdrawal of his security chief.
Speaking during a meeting with the police chief, Wike said was shocked by the police statement withdrawing his chief security officer for misconduct.

On Monday, December 5, the security chief to the Rivers state governor was withdrawn by the inspector general of police.
The police had in statement said the governor’s security chief was withdrawn for gross misconduct against the rules of the Nigeria police force.
However, Wike has also asked the IGP to transfer the assistant commissioner of police in charge of operations in the state Steven Hasso and the commander of special anti-robbery squad Akin Fakorede for compromising security in Rivers state.
He also said the two police officers are culpable in partisan activities within the state.
He however condemned the police chief for taking sides with Hasso for allegedly invading the River state Government House with some All Progressives Congress supporters.

He further told the police boss that contrary to his claim, his chief security officer only stopped Hasso and the APC members from invading the Government House.
“The moment you touch my chief security officer, you are telling me that you are ready for me. As I sit, I am empty, I have no protection," the governor said.
Meanwhile, a senator in the state Magnus Abe has accused Wike of collaborating with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to train its officers for the forth coming Rivers state rerun election.
Abe in his allegation against the electoral body and the governor said the INEC officials were being trained in an obscure hotel in a neighbouring state, Abia.
He also called for all the parties participating in the Rivers re-run to be evenly and fairly treated.
