- The INEC has been announcing results for the Rivers rerun election which held on Saturday

- The APC in Rivers state is not happy with the Rivers East senatorial district result

- The APC deputy leader in the state, Peterside, said the Rivers East senatorial result ridicules democracy

Dakuku Peterside, the director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would reject the result of Rivers East senatorial district rerun election.

Speaking to a news conference in Port Harcourt on Monday, December 10, he said the collation of the district’s election results was marred with irregularities, NAN reports.

Peterside, the deputy leader of the party in the state, said the party had information that results of some local government areas in the district had not been collated.

You are aware that elections were inconclusive in Etchelocal government area; the results for Emohua local government area have not been collated, the results for Port Harcourt City local government area were partially collated.

“The APC agent was beaten at the collation centre in Port Harcourt. Without him being present, the result was announced in favour of the PDP candidate,” he said.

According to him, due process was not followed in announcing the results and whatever result is declared for Rivers East will be ridiculing the democracy.
