Gambia election: President Jammeh orders soldiers to take over electoral commission

President Muhammadu Buhari and three other presidents from Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia are currently meeting with President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia.
The African leaders, who have spoken to President Jammeh behind closed doors, are trying to persuade him to step aside as he had lost the election in the country.
President Buhari said Gambia's president had been exceptionally receptive to a delegation during the meeting.

The Nigerian head of state also shared a photo of the crucial meeting, where President Jammeh is the only one broadly smiling.
Meanwhile, Gambia's electoral commission's offices have been reportedly seized by soldiers.
Earlier President Yahya Jammeh said that his party is going to challenge the election result at the supreme court.
The Electoral Commission has revised its results that were proved to be correct -- meaning opposition candidate Adama Barrow remains the winner.

According to local media, Adama Barrow won 263,515 votes (45.5%), President Jammeh took 212,099 (36.7%) and a third party candidate, Mama Kandeh, won 102,969 (17.8%).
Gambia's president-elect Adama Barrow is now a hotel in Serekunda and will also hold talks with West African heads of state.
