Bayelsa state governor makes 8 new appointments
- Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson has announced the appointment of eight Aides as representative at the existing local government areas of the state
- The appointment is targeted at bringing the state governor close to the existing communities of the state
- A Bayelsa based socio-Political group known as the Grassroots Vanguard for Dickson (GVD) in reaction to the development, commended Dickson over the appointment
Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson
Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson on Saturday, December 3, announced the appointment of eight Aides as representative at the existing local government areas of the state.
According to Leadership, the appointment,which was announced in a statement by Daniel Markson-Iworiso, the Chief Press Secetary to the governor, was targeted at bringing the state governor close to the existing communities of the state.

“His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State has approved the appointment new Governor’s Special Representatives for the 8 Local Government Areas of the State”

“The members are Frank Bekebo (Southern Ijaw), Eselema Gbaranbiri (Kolokuma/Opokuma), Patterson Ikpi ( Yenagoa), Like Godday (Sagbama), Barr. Japan Odoji(Ekeremor), Osain Olalibo (Ogbia) Cheif Kenhabo Debi(Nembe) and EsauAndrew (Brass)."
A Bayelsa based socio-Political group known as the Grassroots Vanguard for Dickson (GVD) in reaction to the development, commended Dickson over the appointment of High Chief Alaibo Osain-Ibokolo and seven others as governor’s representatives in the 8 local government council areas of the state.
Meanwhile, Dickson has been accused of diverting N12billion loan reportedly taken by the state for capital projects, Sahara Reporters write.
A Bayelsa youth group Democratic Youth Watch (DEYOW) made this accusation, claiming further that the governor also took credit for roads rehabilitation projects done by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
